The Future Group, an Oslo, Norway-based provider of interactive mixed reality technology, raised $20m in Series C funding.
Major Norwegian investors including Ferd ASA and holding company Aker ASA, with more than 25 other investors participating.
The company, which has raised a total of $42M to date, intends to use the funds for market introduction of 2 new initiatives:
– the Frontier™ Interactive Mixed Reality™ (IMR) platform and
– a new worldwide IMR primetime game show to be introduced to television networks in early 2017.
Co-founded by Jens Petter Høili and Bård-Anders Kasin in 2013, The Future Group has developed the Frontier™ Interactive Mixed Reality (IMR) technology platform, providing 3D visual effects for broadcast, industrial and entertainment customers to create IMR, VR and AR content.
Using Frontier, any production can instantly create both live photo-realistic effects and virtual sets that are integrated with anything or anyone from the real world to create IMR content.
The company has approx. 100 employees.
