TalentNext, a Mumbai, India-based online talent platform, raised approx. $1m in seed funding.
The round was led by Karanpal Singh, with participation from other angel investors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations.
Founded by Shekhar Purohit, TalentNext connects all forms of talent (e.g. actors/models, dancers, musicians, voiceovers, etc.) to the casting community for films, televisions shows, commercial ad films, live events, theater (performing arts) and other formats of entertainment. Casting professionals can an audition or job for free while being able to manage applications and browse through talents profiles online. Talent can sign up for free and create a basic profile on the platform. For a small monthly fee, they can upgrade for unlimited access to auditions, jobs, higher level of status on verified profile, and additional storage for photos, videos, and audio files to the profile.
