Periscope Data Secures $25M in Series B Funding

periscope_dataPeriscope Data, a San Francisco, CA-based data analysis platform designed specifically for data scientists, secured $25m in Series B funding.

The round, which followed a $9.5m Series A funding in 2015 led by DFJ, was led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from existing investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Susa Ventures, Innovation Endeavors, and AngelPad. In conjunction with the funding, Ethan Kurzweil, partner at BVP, will join Periscope Data’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to hire new talent with expertise to expand its capabilities and focus on new markets.

Founded in 2012 by Harry Glaser, CEO, Periscope Data provides a platform for data scientists to conduct complex analyses on SQL-based databases, investigate business issues and recommend strategic changes.
The company currently serves more than 600 customers including Salesforce, Apigee, New Relic, SurveyMonkey and ProductHunt.
