Language Tech Startup Lilt Raises $2.35M in Seed Funding

liltLilt, a Palo Alto, CA-based language technology startup, raised $2.35m in seed funding.

Backers included Redpoint Ventures, Zetta Venture Partners, and XSeed Capital.

The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations.

Co-founded by John DeNero and Spence Green, who met while working on Google Translate during the summer of 2011, Lilt has leveraged a research prototype of an interactive, machine-assisted translation system called Predictive Translation Memory, built in 2014, to launch a translation platform that learns from human input to boost productivity.
It features predictive typing, interactive, adaptive machine translation, automatic tag placement, a built-in termbase and an API.
