Hungry Raises $2.7M in Funding

Hungry-logo-gradient--2 LogoHungry Marketplace, an Arlington, Va.-based mobile and online food platform that connects professional chefs with foodies in the Washington, DC area, raised $2.7m in seed funding.

The round was led by Karam Hinduja’s Timeless Capital and Bob Hisaoka.

The company intends to use the funds to expand their reach to foodies in the greater DC.

Founded in early June 2016 by mobile tech entrepreneurs Shy and Eman Pahlevani, Hungry provides foodies with direct access to authentic cuisine via gourmet chefs. Chefs retain control of their menus and can earn significant supplemental income and are able to build their personal brand with creative control.
Hungry already has over 500 chef applicants.
