Findo Raises $7m in Seed Funding

findoFindo, a Menlo Park, CA-based smart search assistant, raised $7m in seed funding.

Backers included Abbyy, Flint Capital, Foxit, a software provider of PDF solutions, and others. Findo and Foxit have also announced a strategic partnership which includes a $600k investment and mutual technology integration.

Co-founded by serial entrepreneurs Dr. David Yang and Gary A. Fowler, Findo is a smart search assistant that works across personal emails, files, images, notes in Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, Outlook, OneDrive, YahooMail, iCloud Mail (@me.com, @icloud.com), laptops, among others.
The system “understands” human-like language and can do a search by description. Its latest feature is the iMessage application (released for iOS 10) which allows users to find and send their emails, files, notes, and contact details without leaving iMessage.
The Findo team has 19 engineers, artificial intelligence scientists and managers; two PhDs; and nine filed patents.
