Exnodes Inc., a Fremont, CA-based computational semiconductor inspection company, closed a $2m seed funding round.
Backers included Samsung Ventures and SK hynix Inc., as well as angel investors Gordon Eubanks and Professor Joseph Goodman.
The company intends to use the funds to add expertise and personnel as well as deploy key infrastructure upgrades in its R&D facilities.
Founded in mid-2014 by Dr. Prasanna Pavani, CEO, and Dr. Michael Varney, CSO, Exnodes develops computational ispection technology to solve problems of plummeting yields in semiconductor chips. The technology enables rapid detection, identification, and root-cause analysis required to eliminate nanoscale defects inherent in semiconductor fabrication.
