CorWave Completes $17.1M Series B Financing

corwaveCorWave, a Paris, France-based medical technology company that develops innovative mechanical circulatory support devices, completed a $17.1m (€15.5M) Series B financing.

The round was led by new backer Novo Seeds, with participation from new investor Ysios Capital and existing shareholders including Sofinnova Partners, Bpifrance and Seventure. In conjunction with the funding, Emmanuelle Coutanceau from Novo Seeds and Josep Lluis Sanfeliu from Ysios will join CorWave’s board of directors along with independent director Michel Darnaud.

Led by Louis de Lillers, CEO, CorWave has developed a pumping technology that mimics the native heart flow pattern and could overcome the limitations of rotary pump left ventricular assist devices (LVADs). Incorporated by MD Start, a European medtech incubator, in 2011, the company raised a Series A round in 2013. Gérard Hascoët, who led the incubation phase, now serves as chairman.
