WaterView Raises €475K in Seed Funding

WaterViewWaterView, a Turin, Italy-based platform that measures rain intensity from simple photographs, raised €475k in funding.

The angel network Club degli Investitori made the investment.

The company will use the funds to expand marketing efforts and operations.

Co-founded in 2015 by Paola Allamano, Paolo Cavagnero and Alberto Croci, WaterView has developed a Big Data platform that leverages images from every digital imaging device (traditional surveillance and smartphone cameras, dedicated webcams) to provide real-time information about rainfall spatial and temporal patterns in such fields as civil protection, precision farming, transport safety, or outdoor sports.
The company is currently accelerated within I3P, the incubator of Politecnico di Torino.
