SecureKey Closes CAD$27M Funding Round

securekeySecureKey Technologies Inc., a Toronto, Canada-based provider of identity and authentication solutions, raised CAD$27m in growth capital.

Backers included BMO Bank of Montreal, Bank of Nova Scotia, CIBC, Desjardins, Royal Bank of Canada and TD Bank.

The company intends to use the funds for the commercial rollout of a privacy-enhancing digital identity network.

Led by founder, chairman and returning CEO Greg Wolfond and Rizwan Khalfan, EVP and Chief Digital Officer, SecureKey provides identity and authentication solutions that simplify consumer access to critical online services and applications.
Following the deployment of the SecureKey ConciergeTM federated authentication service, the company and partnering financial services providers are accelerating the development of an innovative new service to be launched in 2017 which aims to make it easier for consumers to manage their digital assets and to take control of their digital identity in a privacy enhanced and secure way.

The company has offices in Boston and San Francisco.
