Polar Cloud Closes $2M Financing

Polar 3D, a Cincinnati-based provider of a 3D printing solution for the classroom, closed a $2m financing.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and the capabilities of the platform. To this end, it has hired Dan Newman as Chief Technology Officer and David Thornburg as Director of Education.

Co-founded by Bill Steele, Co-founder, Ed Estes and led by Greg LaLonde, CEO, Polar 3D provides an online platform for 3D printing in education, which has reached 100,000 3D print jobs.
The company previously raised $1.5 million and plans a $6.5 million Series A round in 2017.
