Legal Tech Startup Clause Raises Seed Funding

clauseClause, a NYC-based legal tech startup, raised a seed round of undisclosed amount.

Backers included Nextlaw Labs, the legal tech venture development platform launched by global law firm Dentons, and Seedcamp, and a seed stage fund.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the platform’s undelying infrastructure as well as hire new developers. It will also receive training and mentorship as a result of a joint global callout of the investors to identify top legal tech startups.

Co-founded by Peter Hunn, CEO, and Houman Shadab, and COO, Clause is building a proprietary, patent-pending infrastructure that integrates legally enforceable contracts with real-time data from the Internet of Things, web services, and business and accounting systems to update prices, warranties, delivery requirements, and other terms.
