Joe & the Juice, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based urban juice bar and coffee concept, received a strategic growth investment from General Atlantic.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
General Atlantic joined existing investor Valedo Partners, a Stockholm-based growth-oriented private equity firm, as a minority shareholder. As part of the investment, General Atlantic’s Andrew Crawford, Managing Director and Global Head of the Retail & Consumer sector team, and Melis Kahya, a senior member of the Retail & Consumer sector team who leads the firm’s efforts in the EMEA region, will join Joe & the Juice’s Board of Directors.
The investment will allow the company to continue to expand globally.
Founded in Copenhagen in 2002 by CEO Kaspar Basse, Joe & the Juice offers freshly prepared juices, shakes, coffee, and sandwiches emphasising on customer service. The company, which has a global presence with 160 stores worldwide, in which a majority of the stores are located in the Nordic region of Europe and across the UK, is entering Asian and the US market.
