Comcast Ventures Hires Dinesh Moorjani as MD

comcast_venturesComcast Ventures, the venture capital arm of Comcast Corporation, hired Dinesh Moorjani as managing director.

Based in Santa Monica, the serial entrepreneur, senior operating executive and seed investor will lead investments across various sectors, including data and business intelligence, marketplaces and social networks.

Prior to joining Comcast Ventures, Moorjani served as executive-in-residence at Warburg Pincus where he continues to serve as an advisor. He was the founder and CEO of Hatch Labs, where he and his team conceived of, built, and ran mobile startups. Moorjani also cofounded Tinder in Hatch Labs and has been the cofounder and CEO of numerous early stage companies.
He has also held leadership roles at IAC/InteractiveCorp as well as Samsung Electronics.

Consisting of the previously combined Comcast Interactive Capital and NBCUniversal Peacock Equity Fund, Comcast Ventures invests in innovative businesses that are developing technologies that aim to change the way people live, work and interact. The firm, which is also led by MDs Amy Banse, Andrew Cleland, Sam Landman, Rick Prostko, Louis Toth, Michael Yang, David Zilberman and Kim Armor, is based in Palo Alto, San Francisco, Philadelphia and New York.
