Simpplr Closes $6M in Series A Funding

simpplrSimpplr, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of internal communication, knowledge management, and employee services, closed $6m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Norwest Venture Partners with participation from Salesforce Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Promod Haque, senior managing partner at Norwest, will join Simpplr’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development of its flagship Simpplr Employee Community product and to expand Simpplr Employee Help Desk.

Founded in 2014 by CEO Dhiraj Sharma, Simpplr provides companies with a platform that connects employees with information and applications across all departments in a company, while providing personalized information for all users based on their roles, interests and permissions. It is pre-integrated into workplace applications including Box, Okta, Salesforce and Workday.
Its second product, Simpplr Employee Help Desk, is a Salesforce Bolt Solution built on the Salesforce Lightning Bolt Framework, which enables employee self-service and case creation, and automates cross-department workflows.
The product will pilot in Q4 2016 and is expected to be generally available by Summer 2017.
