Shippo, a San Francisco, CA-based shipping solutions provider, raised $7m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Union Square Ventures with participation from SoftTech VC, Version One Ventures, etc. In conjunction with the funding, USV’s Albert Wenger joined Shippo’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to hire new people expand operations.
Led by Laura Behrens Wu, CEO, Shippo powers shipping for businesses via an API, which allows developers to connect to a network of shipping providers such as UPS, FedEx, USPS, Canada Post, DHL, across North America, Europe, and Australia and print shipping labels in minutes. It enables businesses to compare shipping rates, print discounted shipping labels, and track shipments.
The company is also supported by such investors as FundersClub and others.
