OMsignal Receives US$10M in Growth Financing

ombraOMsignal, a Montreal, Canada-based developer of smart sports bra, received US$10M in growth financing.

The round was led by Relay Ventures, with participation from MAS Holdings, Bessemer Venture Partners, Techstars Ventures, Real Ventures, Mistral Ventures, Primera Capital, Investissement Québec, and Export Development Canada.

The company intends to use the funds to bring OMbra to consumers worldwide and further its market and technological leadership in smart apparel.

Stephane Marceau, CEO and Co-Founder, Joanna Berzowska, Head of Electronic Textiles, OMsignal makes functional smart apparel featuring clothes to read the body’s signals, interpret them into actionable insights, and then wirelessly communicate them directly to a mobile device. The company is the maker of OMbra, a smart sports bra, and the biometric technology powering OMrun, a mobile app for running.

OMsignal also powers apparel brands with a proprietary smart textile and software technology which is already behind Ralph Lauren’s PoloTech collection, which launched at the US Open.
