LumaTax Raises $2.0M in Funding

LumaTax, a San Diego, CA- and Seattle, WA-based sales tax automation solution for small businesses, raised $2.0m in funding.

Backers included Madrona Venture Group, Greycroft Partners and several strategic angel investors.

Led by Robert Schulte, CEO, LumaTax is a free mobile application available via the Apple AppStore and Google Play that enables businesses to issue verified tax exemption certificates straight from their phones. In addition, an online solution allows users to file and pay sales.
Later this quarter, the company will offer California-based small businesses a cloud service to complete and file their sales tax returns.

LumaTax is the first spin-out of Pioneer Square Labs in Seattle, Washington.
