ExplORer Surgical Raises $1M in Seed Funding Round

explorersurgicalExplORer Surgical, a Chicago, IL-based developer of an intraoperative workflow management tool for surgery, closed a $1m seed funding round.

Backers included CJM Ventures, M25 Group, SymphonyAlpha Ventures, The University of Chicago Innovation Fund, Wasson Enterprise, as well as healthcare and technology angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to scale operations.

Led by Jennifer Fried, CEO and co-founder, Dr. Alex Langerman, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Marko Rojnica, Eugene Fine, CTO, and Tom Knight, COO, ExplORer provides a software as a service interactive surgical playbook that aims to optimize teamwork in the operating room, by preventing delays & disruptions that arise due to missing or incorrect instruments, reducing instances of opened-but-unused disposable items, and capturing granular intraoperative data in real-time.
