Aqua Security Raises $9M in Series A Funding

aquaAqua Security, a Tel Aviv, Israel- and San Francisco, CA-based provider of a platform for securing virtual container applications, secured US$9m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Microsoft Ventures with participation from seed investors TLV Partners and Shlomo Kramer. In conjunction with the funding, Mr. Kramer will be joining Aqua’s Board of Directors.

The company, which has raised US$13.5m in total funding, intends to use the funds double its staff by mid-2017.

Founded in late 2015 by Dror Davidoff, CEO, Aqua provides a security platform for containerized environments, supporting Docker on both Windows and Linux, and available for on-premises deployment or on Azure, AWS and Google clouds.
It provides Fortune 500 customers in the financial services, technology, retail and online services sectors with development-to-production container lifecycle protection by combining smart default security profiles, behavioral analytics, and in-house cybersecurity research to create a comprehensive security and compliance envelope.
