VUV Analytics, an Austin, TX-based developer of vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) absorption spectroscopy, closed a $6.5m Series B financing.
The round was led by new investor New Science Ventures, with participation from S3 Ventures and other previous investors. In conjunction with the funding, Vivek Mohindra, Partner at New Science Ventures, has joined the company’s board of directors.
VUV Analytics will use the funds to expand operations.
Led by Clark Jernigan, CEO, the company manufactures the VGA-100, VGA-101, & SVGA-100 gas chromatography (GC) and streaming gas detectors for such industries as environmental research, oil & gas, forensics, fragrances and flavors, petrochemical, specialty gas, agrochemical, food & beverage safety, and life science. The VGA-100 is a universal mass-sensitive gas chromatography detector that provides both qualitative and quantitative data. The VGA-101 features an expanded wavelength spectrum and higher allowable maximum operating temperature. The SVGA-100 allows for continuous monitoring and real-time measurement of gas purity and concentrations.
