Seegrid, a Pittsburgh, PA-based developer of vision-based autonomous industrial vehicles, raised $25M in financing.
The financing includes approximately $12M of equity capital from Giant Eagle, its majority shareholder, and several other existing and new investors, and a commitment for an additional $13M from Giant Eagle.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to improve its robotics capabilities and expand its customer base.
Led by Jim Rock, CEO, Seegrid provides automation technology for materials handling. Its industrial trucks are vision guided vehicles (VGVs), which navigate without wires, lasers, magnets, or tape. They are available in a line of pallet trucks and tow tractors.
The Seegrid Supervisor software application allows users to manage, monitor, and control a fleet of vehicles.
The company currently serves leading global companies such as Whirlpool, Daimler, and Jaguar Land Rover.
