Kentik Technologies Closes $23M Series B Funding Round

kentikKentik Technologies, a San Francisco, California-based network traffic intelligence company, raised $23m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Third Point Ventures, with participation from existing investors August Capital, Data Collective (DCVC), First Round Capital, and Engineering Capital, and new investors Glynn Capital and David Ulevitch.

The company intends to use the funds to increase headcount in the next year in sales, systems engineering, marketing, software development and operations, to accelerate product capabilities and expand market reach.

Led by Avi Freedman, CEO, Kentik provides SaaS, big data-based network traffic and performance visibility solutions that ingest network data at Internet scale – hundreds of billions of records per day – in real-time, and allow users to run multi-dimensional queries and receive visualizations quickly.
The company has over 60 customers, including some of the world’s largest web enterprises such as Box, Yelp, Pandora, Shopify, Dailymotion, Neustar, OpenDNS and Instart Logic.
