Drivetribe Completes $5.5M Series A Funding

drivetribe_logo_thumbnailDrivetribe, a London, UK-based digital media platform dedicated to motoring and adventure, completed a $5.5m Series A funding.

The round was led by Breyer Capital with participation from Atomico and other individual investors.

Co-founded by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May, Andy Wilman and Ernesto Schmitt, Drivetribe aims to become a top digital publishing platform for motoring. The site will support video, articles, social and interactive content – structured into different content streams called “tribes” – each with their own unique characteristics and personality. Tribes will be hosted by Clarkson, Hammond and May, along with invited stars, bloggers, writers and videographers, who will all generate and curate their own content for fans.

Drivetribe expects to officially launch in November 2016. Current tribes in creation include F1, NASCAR, Tokyo drift culture, women’s motocross and street racing in South Africa.
