Thoma Bravo Buys Trader Corporation for Approx. C$1.575 Billion

Thoma Bravo, a private equity investment firm, acquired Trader Corporation, a Canadian digital automotive marketplace and software solutions provider, from funds advised by Apax Partners.

The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close by the fourth quarter of 2016, amounts to approximately C$1.575 billion.

Thoma Bravo will help Trader expand its product portfolio organically and through strategic investments and acquisitions.

Led by Sebastian Baldwin, President and CEO, Trader Corporation is a digital automotive marketplace providing a comprehensive set of marketing software solutions to Canadian dealers. Its online properties — autoTRADER.ca™, autoHEBDO.net™ and Autos.ca — have 13 million visits per month, listing over 450,000 vehicles.
In addition, the company provides software solutions for dealer customers to improve business, inventory, and marketing decision making processes.
