Smart Pension Receives Additional Investment from Legal & General Investment Management

smartpensionSmart Pension, a London, UK-based MAF-accredited online auto-enrolment provider, received an investment of undisclosed amount from Legal & General Investment Management.

LGIM made a minority investment and partnered with the company by broadening its offering for small schemes that are going through the auto enrolment process. Small schemes will now have access to a range of LGIM DC pension funds specifically designed for the Smart Pension solution. In conjunction with the deal, Emma Douglas, head of LGIM’s defined contribution pensions business, will take a non-executive seat on Smart Pension’s board.

Co-founded in 2014 by Andrew Evans, CEO, and Will Wynne, Managing Director, and launched in May 2015, Smart Pension provides a digital pension platform allowing small and micro companies to sign up their employees to a workplace pension scheme, as required by law.
