Sports Management Software Startup Upper Hand Raises $1M in Seed Funding

upperhandUpper Hand, Inc., an Indianapolis, IN-based online sports management software company, raised $1M in seed funding.

The round was co-led by former Finish Line Executives Larry Sablosky (Finish Line Co-founder), Steve Schneider (former President & COO) and Don Courtney (former President of E-Commerce) with participation from Sheets Smith Wealth Management and other existing Upper Hand shareholders based in Indianapolis, IN, Washington, DC and Greensboro, NC.

The company, which has raised $1.34M since January 2014, intends to use the funds for technology, sales and customer success employee growth and expansion of software features.

Led by Kevin MacCauley, Founder and CEO, Upper Hand provides a software platform that aims to simplify front and back-end office tasks for sports businesses, featuring marketing tools and business intelligence.
The company is expected to launch the next version of its online service in the second quarter of 2016, and is working with a top 500 corporate franchise to build enterprise based software.
