Medium, a San Francisco, CA-based social publishing platform, acquired Superfeedr, an open web feed API provider.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Founded by Julien Genestoux and backed by Betaworks and Mark Cuban, San Francisco, CA-based Superfeedr fetches and parses RSS or Atom feeds on behalf of its users and then pushes the new entries to subscribing applications.
The acquisition will allow Medium to enable full content RSS feeds both for publications and users and add new features beyond tools for users to add their own domain name, import and export posts, point to a canonical URL if they cross-posted, supports DNT, etc.
