Medical Data Platform Medal Raises $3.78M in Seed Funding

MEDAL_logoMedal Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based medical data platform, raised $3.78M in seed funding.

The round was led by angel investors 8VC, with participation from Founders Fund, Draper Associates, ZhenFund, and several angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate hiring and product deployment.

Founded in 2015 by Lonnie Kurlander, CEO, Andy McMurry, CTO, Medal provides enterprise software that enables secure, HIPAA compliant sharing and cataloguing of clinical information from any electronic medical records system, including reports and summaries using natural language processing. It allows users to collect and utilize updated individual data to create holistic patient profiles to feed decision support and drive better health outcomes.
