Co-founded by Preetha Ram and Ashwin Ram, with support from Learn Capital, National Science Foundation and others, OpenStudy offers a peer-to-peer study help platform that features game mechanics and analytics. Its users will be now invited to join Brainly’s existing 60 million monthly users to create a single global community with the joint mission of sharing knowledge between students through digital conversations. Both platforms will continue as separately branded entities with their own respective websites and apps, while sharing knowledge and data to improve the learning experience for users of both platforms.
Led by CEO Michal Borkowski, Brainly operates a social learning community which allows high school and middle school students to connect to their peers to strengthen their skills, from math, to science, to history and beyond, via Brainly.com and a mobile app. It is currently available in 35 countries, representing 12 languages. The company recently announced a $15m Series B funding round led by Naspers, intended to accelerate Brainly’s growth globally and expand its presence in the United States.
