Qualtrics Acquires Statwing, Statistical Analysis Software Provider

Qualtrics*, a Provo, UT-based SaaS insight platform provider, acquired Statwing, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of web-based statistical analysis software for business users, data analysts, and market researchers.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Led by Greg Laughlin, CEO, and John Le, CTO, Statwing allows users to explore data by uploading their spreadsheets or datasets, then selecting the relationships they want to explore to create charts quickly.
Backers in the company included Y Combinator, investor in Dropbox, Jeff Hammerbacher, Cofounder of Cloudera, Jason Seats, Cofounder of Slicehost and Director of TechStars Austin, and Diego Basch, Founder of IndexTank.
Following the acquisition, the service will be available in its current form to subscribers until December 31st, 2016. After this date, it will be integrated into Qualtrics and subscribers will have the option to switch to the new platform to continue using Statwing in its improved form.
