Pinterest Acquires URX

pinterestPinterest, the San Francisco, CA-based provider of a visual bookmarking tool, acquired URX, an adtech startup focused on mobile. 

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Founded 3 years ago by John Milinovich, URX built a platform that allowed consumers to discover content inside mobile apps. As a part of this transition to Pinteresty, the company will shut down the AppViews advertising product.

Co-founded in 2010 by Ben Silbermann, Evan Sharp and Paul Sciarra, Pinterest operates a visual bookmarking tool allows users to discover and save creative ideas. It is available via Web ans Android and iOS apps in + 30 launguages.
The company has more than 500 employees in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo and Sao Paulo.
