P2P Construction Equipment Marketplace EquipmentShare Raised $5.5M in Venture Capital

equipment_shareEquipmentShare, a Columbia, MO-based P2P marketplace for construction equipment, raised $5.5m in venture capital.

The round was led by Romulus Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the platform and grow operations nationwide.

Co-founded by brothers William Schlacks and Jabbok Schlacks, EquipmentShare operates a platform which combines insurance verification, background checks and payment processing to facilitate peer-to-peer renting and lending of contracting equipment such as skid loaders, excavators, lifts, etc. at rates below those of commercial rental companies. The technology enables members to place rental orders, communicate equipment schedules, confirm equipment availability, and coordinate transport/inspection.
The company also has offices in Jacksonville, Dallas and Auckland, New Zealand.
