Freight Trucking Management Platform FR8 Revolution Raises $8.5M in Series A Funding

FR8guru-LogoFR8 Revolution, Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based startup that develops free tools to improve efficiency in the US freight trucking market, raised up to $8.5m in Series A funding.

German company MAN Truck & Bus AG, a Volkswagen Truck & Bus subsidiary and global supplier of commercial vehicles and transport solutions, made the investment.

The company, which has raised nearly $10m, intends to use the funds to scale its operations and product development.

Founded in 2015 by Matthew Kropp, CEO, FR8 Revolution builds free, data-driven, cloud-based tools for carriers to manage their fleet schedules, identify available capacity on freight truck routes, and sell this capacity to shippers that need it. The platform allows shippers to manage and track their spot loads in real time while the mobile app provides truck drivers with tools to manage their life on the road.
The solution is currently in Beta with a planned launch this summer for its open platform, which is delivered via the web and mobile and integrates into a variety of carrier systems.
The company was incubated by BCG Digital Ventures.
