Toptal Buys Skillbridge

toptalToptal, a San Francisco, CA-based network of elite freelance software engineers and designers, acquired Skillbridge, a New York and London, UK-based platform operating in the on-demand business talent space.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The combined entity will leverage Toptal’s technology platform to expand its network of talent and scale product offerings.

Founded in 2010 by Taso Du Val, CEO, and backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Adam D’Angelo, Founder of Quora, Ryan Rockefeller, and others, Toptal connects thousands of elite freelance software engineers and designers from around the world to over 2,000 blue-chip enterprises, tech companies and startups, to provide solutions that meet the most complex and challenging requirements. Clients include J.P. Morgan, Pfizer, Airbnb and Zendesk, among others.

Co-founded at the Wharton School by Raj Jeyakumar, CEO, and Saalim Chowdhury, CTO, and backed by 500 Startups, Skillbridge provides an online platform  powered by talent dynamics matching technology to allow over 7,500 screened elite business freelancers (including consultants, accountants, statisticians and other specialists in areas such as Market Research, Financial Modeling, and Due Diligence) to connect with large companies ranging from private equity houses to Fortune 500 when they need them.
