The RealReal, a San Francisco, CA-based authenticated luxury consignment platform, raised $40m in Series E funding.
The round was led by Greenspring Associates, with participation from new investors Broadway Angels, NextEquity Partners, and Springboard Fund as well as existing investors Canaan Partners, e.ventures, Greycroft Partners, InterWest Partners, DBL Partners, and Industry Ventures.
The company, which has raised $123m in total funding, intends to use the funds to grow both domestically and internationally including consideration of strategic investments.
Founded in June 2011 by CEO Julie Wainwright, The RealReal is an authenticated luxury consignment marketplace providing a large selection of authenticated luxury items including men’s and women’s fashion, fine jewelry & watches, and fine art & home. The platform has over 4.5 million members and over 2 million items sold.
The company offers a free in-home pickup service available in 20+ major cities across the USA and offices offering free valuations on pieces from professional gemologists.
