Silk Biomaterials, a Lomazzo, Como-based medtech startup, raised €7m in Series A venture capital funding.
Principia SGR made the investment via Principia Health-III, fund dedicated to support healthcare startups. This round follows a €485k angel funding raised in 2015.
Led by CEO Gabriele Grecchi, Silk develops an innovative technology for the production of medical implantable devices made of silk for the in-vivo regeneration of human tissues and marketing it for human indications through licensing agreements. The company was incubated within ComoNExT, a Lomazzo-based scientific park.
