Schoold, a San Francisco, CA-based college planning startup, closed a seed round of approximately $4.5m.
Backers included FastForward, Lorne Abony, and other private investors.
The company intends to use the funds to extend and introduce new core functionality to the Schoold app as well as grow its engineering and marketing teams.
Led by Sourabh Ahuja, CEO, and Joe E. Ross, President and COO, Schoold provides students with is a college and career planning app that allows people and their families to plan their educational futures. Launched in late February in the Google Play Store, Schoold is also available for iOS.
The mobile app have been downloaded more than 500,000 times.
