Framebridge Raises $9M in Venture Capital Funding

framebridgeFramebridge, a Washington DC-based online custom framing startup, raised $9m in venture capital funding.

Backers included SWaN & Legend Venture Partners, as well as existing investors New Enterprise Associates and Revolution Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, SWaN & Legend Managing Director Fred Schaufeld will join Framebridge’s Board of Directors.

The company, which has raised over $20M in less than two years of operations, intends to use the funds to scale marketing and partnership initiatives, invest in experience improvements and introduce new custom products and services.

Launched in August 2014 by Susan Tynan, CEO, Framebridge operates a platform that allows users to choose from a curated collection of frames, mail to the company their art (or upload a photo) to print and frame, place orders via website and the app and receive the piece at home.
The company, which currently has 100 employees, has opened a new hi-tech framing facility in Richmond, Kentucky, and continue to operate its existing framing studio in Lanham, MD, near the company’s Washington DC headquarters.
