EdCast Raises $16M in Series B Funding

edcast-logoEdCast, a Mountain View, CA-based company providing a knowledge media and intelligence learning platform for individuals, teams and organizations, completed a $16m Series B round of financing.

The round, which follows a $6m Series A round raised in late 2014, was led by GE Asset Management with participation from SoftBank Capital, Cervin Ventures, Stanford StartX Fund and Penta Global.

The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations.

Led by Karl Mehta, Founder & CEO, EdCast operates a knowledge network built to educate individuals, teams and organizations via curated and contextual bite-size insights (called SmartBitesTM), with live access to subject experts. The company’s knowledge networks is used by social, mobile and cloud-based informal learning for institutions, enterprises, governments and nonprofits.

EdCast, a Stanford StartX company, recently announced a partnership with HP to power its HP LIFE knowledge community of over 500,000 users worldwide.
