Auro Robotics Raises $2M in Funding

Auro Robotics, a Sunnyvale, CA-based autonomous campus shuttle service, raised $2m in funding.

The round was led by Motus Ventures with participation from Rothenberg Ventures.

The company will use the funds to roll out autonomous campus shuttle services at a major American university later this year.

Led by Nalin Gupta, CEO, Auro Robotics provides a complete technology system, including a suite of technologies encompassing all aspects of campus autonomous driving. The company equips all-electric vehicles with a multi-sensor system for detecting ground-level obstacles. Software includes three-dimensional map creation and real-time localization, as well as advanced motion-planning software and a smart vehicle-pedestrian interaction system. A mobile application is tuned for on-demand shuttle scheduling and tracking, as well as cloud-based fleet management and scheduling software.

Auro Robotics currently operates a pilot service at Santa Clara University where it transports students and faculty on campus.
