Zaloni, a Durham, NC-based data lake company, closed a $7.5m Series A funding.
The round was led by Sierra Ventures, with participation from Baird Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Mark Fernandes, Managing Director of Sierra Ventures, will join Zaloni’s Board of Directors.
The company will use the funds to further grow its software suite, as well as to increase its sales and marketing, research and development, and international expansion efforts.
Led by Ben Sharma, co-founder and CEO, Zaloni provides solutions that enable customers to gain competitive advantage through organized, actionable big data lakes. These include Bedrock, an enterprise data lake management platform, and Mica, a self-service data discovery, curation and preparation software platform.
