Volley Labs Raises $2.3M in Seed Funding

volley-labsVolley Labs, a San Francisco, CA-based learning technology startup, raised $2.3m in seed funding.

Backers included Zuckerberg Education Ventures, Reach Capital, Chinese TAL Education Group as well as individual angel investors among executives from Facebook, Apple, and Dropbox, etc.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations. It is hiring.

Led by CEO Zaid Rahman, Adam Ashwal, Carson Kahn, Marc Boxser and Ryan Orbuch, Volley leverages computational capabilities to understand and teach the world’s academic knowledge. Its mobile and web application transforms textbooks, homework assignments, and essays into personalized learning experiences that enhance learning. The technology can automatically generate quizzes and assemble custom study guides, making the studying process dynamic and interactive.
