OwnBackup Closes $3.5M Series A Financing

ownbackupOwnBackup, a Fort Lee, NJ-based cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery vendor, closed a $3.5m Series A financing.

The round was led by Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors with participation from Oryzn Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Yuval Shachar of Innovation Endeavors and Oryzn Capital’s Aviad Ariel will join OwnBackup’s Board.

The company will use the funds to accelerate its global growth, drive continued product innovation and expand its engineering, development, sales and marketing teams.

Led by Sam Gutmann, CEO, OwnBackup provides mid-sized and large enterprises with secure, automated, daily backups of SaaS and PaaS data, as well as data compare and restore tools for disaster recovery. The solution covers data loss and corruption caused by human errors, malicious intent, integration errors and rogue applications.

The company, which also has offices in Herzliya Pituach, Israel, serves hundreds of customers across a variety of verticals to protect critical cloud data—with a focus on Salesforce and the Force.com platform.

OwnBackup has just graduated from the Microsoft Ventures Accelerator Program in Israel.
