Roger Raises $1M in Seed Funding

Roger, a NYC-based conversation service, raised $1m in seed round of funding.

The round was led by Social Capital with participation from John Bonten, Emily ffrench Blake, Tim Sparks, Sophia Bendz, Sriram Krishnan and Gary Liu.

The company intends to use the funds for the development of its platform.

Founded by Ricardo Vice Santos and Andreas Blixt, Roger provides a voice communication platform used by people from more than 60 countries, including Japan, Qatar, Brazil, India, USA, UK, Sweden, France and others.  The app, which aims to empower conversations with more emotion and context, is currently available on iOS, with an Android Beta version available currently to testers.

Roger currently has five employees from Sweden, Portugal, France, India and Singapore, and is based in New York City.
