Next Games Raised $10M in Venture Capital Funding

nextgamesNext Games, a Helsinki, Finland-based mobile games developer, raised an additional $10m in venture capital funding.

The round was led by existing investors IDG Ventures and Jari Ovaskainen, with participation from AMC Networks, Lionsgate, Lowercase and IDG Capital.

The company, which has now raised $18m in total funding to date, intends to use the funds to grow its existing mobile titles, as well as to launch an unannounced third project which is currently in development.

Led by Teemu Huuhtanen, CEO, Next Games is the 70-people-strong studio which works on both internally developed IP and the top third-party IP. It is the company behind Compass Point: West and The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land, which has had nearly 10 million downloads to date on the App Store and on Google Play. The title will receive a content update as Season 6 of the TV show returns this February.
Its first title, Compass Point: West, is a Wild West adventure-strategy game has seen strong metrics throughout 2015 and will launch on Android devices in March 2016.
