MyArea Network, Inc., a Tampa, FL-based platform that connects people to the businesses, places, and things to do in their local communities, received an angel funding of undisclosed amount.
Backers included personal injury physician, Dr. Luis Crespo of Crespo and Associates, PA, and Larry Witt, owner of IT Services firm, Witt IT Consulting, LLC. In conjunction with the investment, Mr. Witt and Dr. Crespo joined MyArea’s board.
Led by COO David Annis, MyArea Network connects local businesses with consumers online and offline, combined with a multi-channel marketing approach to enable local businesses to compete with corporate brands.
For consumers, the platform provides local and social, internet sites to discover restaurants, events, and things to do in their respective areas.
MyArea Network operates over 75 area code based websites across the U.S. Their largest, Tampa based 813Area.com, already has over 100,000 subscribed members. This provides businesses with a digital platform to selectively target social opted-in members with offers and event notifications, which can be delivered by email, text, blogs, and ads on the sites.
