CityMapper Raises $40M in Series B Funding

Logo_CitymapperCityMapper, a London, UK-based developer of a transport app, raised $40M in Series B funding.

Backers included Index Ventures, Benchmark Capital, Yuri Milner, Tom Stafford and Michael Lynton.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and invest in the core product.

Led by CEO and founder Azmat Yusuf, CityMapper provides an app that leverages mobile and open transport data to help commuters face their daily multimodal transport challenges. The app, available for iOS, Android and the Web, updates live/real-time routing every minute.
The company, which has also built tools and widgets that any app or website can integrate to help serve its users, also partners with Google, Apple and OpenStreetMaps, Foursquare and Yelp, Uber and Hailo, Car2Go and Autolib, among others.
