Botify Raises $7.2M in Series A Funding

botifyBotify, a London, U.K- and Paris, France-based search marketing analytics platform, raised $7.2m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Idinvest Partners and Ventech. In conjunction with the funding, Benoist Grossmann, Partner at Idinvest, will join Botify’s board along with Claire Houry, Partner at Ventech.

The company intends to use the funds for product development, international expansion and hiring.

Founded in 2012 by Founded in 2012 by CEO Adrien Menard, CTO Thomas Grange, Stephane Chauvin and Alexandre Boucherot, Botify provides a SaaS-based platform for aiding the crawling process via optimally structured websites. For Google, Bing, Yandex, Baidu and other search engines, the ability to crawl a website rapidly and efficiently enables them to index the relevant data properly, assign a ranking and direct organic traffic.
To this end, the company provides a platform featuring:
– website crawling, which offers a complete overview of the website’s structure,
– web server log files analysis, indicating which pages are actually crawled by search engines and generate traffic or revenue, and
– Reports/insights to view results and benchmark with competitors.
The solution does not require coding skills.

The company currently has more than 300 customers spanning 30 countries and ranging in size from SMBs to global enterprise customers in various sectors, including e-travel (Expedia, Odigeo group, Agoda, BlaBlaCar), e-commerce (Farfetch, Lazada/Rocket Internet, Decathlon), media (Axel Springer, Refinery29, Webedia, Wikia, Time Inc.), lead generation (eBay, RetailMeNot, Yellow Pages), and digital agencies (Digitas, iProspect).
