Appthority Raises $10M in Series B Funding

appthorityAppthority, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of mobile enterprise security services, raised $10m in Series B funding.

Backers included existing investors U.S. Venture Partners and Venrock, as well as new investors Blue Coat Systems and Knollwood Investment Advisory.

The company, which had raised $6.25m in a Series A funding round in May 2012, will use the funds to expand operations and adoption of its solutions.

Led by Paul Stich, CEO, Appthority provides an enterprise mobile application risk management platform to for financial, government and healthcare customers. The company’s service employs dynamic and behavioral analysis to discover the hidden actions of apps and empower organizations to apply custom policies to prevent unwanted app behaviors. Appthority combines a large global database of analyzed public and private apps with advanced policy management tools to automate control over risky app actions and protect corporate data.
